So what am I supposed to think about a new year? Last year was so completely
difficult and overwhelming. What can I expect out of this new year? So many
losses last year and so many mistakes. I will not make new years resolutions
because I can never measure up anyway.

I am DID (dissociative identity disorder) and I am on a journey to become a whole person. It has been a difficult and painful process but one that I am learning how to trust and love and forgive and really live like God intended me to live. Personally, I think that New Years resolutions are a setup to fail. Don't get me wrong...I think it is good to have goals and to strive for change. However, I think it should be an all the time thing.
I also think we shouldn't beat ourselves up when we miss the mark. We need to just get up and keep on going...keep on trying...as long as it takes. We also need to recognize that we can do nothing without Yahweh's help. He is Lord. I do the best I can and trust Him for the rest. If I fail...I fail. If I succeed...I succeed. Either way...I am drawing closer to Him and seeking His kingdom above all else. Or...at least...that is what I "resolve" to do!
Please don't beat yourself up. It is not about "measuring up". If we could measure up, then we would never have needed Yeshua to come and do what He did for us, would we?
Keep seeking Him...and His kingdom. He will take care of the rest. He can take our little and make it His much. He can do what we cannot.
